Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Bahrain, as Iran launched missile attacks throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a significant and continuing attack against it by the United States and Israeli forces.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area close to the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any damage is unclear and the American officials has remained silent.

Regional Interceptions

In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to American military installations - reported they have shot down missiles in their air space.

In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry announced it had successfully engaged several missiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the region.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on Iran initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday.

That US-Israeli operation - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted sites associated with the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the people of Iran to revolt against the leadership.

Regional Fallout

In Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israeli military stated it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates announced that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses dealt with the missiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," it added.

It said wreckage fell on a populated district in the capital, resulting in some material damage and fatalities.

The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
