Comedian and author David Walliams parted ways with longtime publisher.

The author

Prolific children's author and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his UK book publisher, according to an announcement.

An official for the company said: "Following a thorough review, and with the guidance of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the decision was made after an investigation into reports of conduct deemed unsuitable involving women.

The firm did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, stating: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."

A Highly Successful Writing Journey

Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, with sales exceeding more than 60 million copies globally in dozens of tongues.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.

Several of his titles, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.

To date, he has released over four dozen titles in total, which features a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins last autumn.

From Screen to Page

He first rose to fame on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE back in 2017 for his services to the charitable sector and arts community.

This move occurs subsequent to the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss this past October.
