Chiefs Confirm Alleged Abuse Allegations Connected to Wide Receiver Rashee Rice

The NFL franchise issued a statement on Wednesday evening indicating they are aware of domestic violence allegations circulated in online accounts by a ex-partner of player Rashee Rice and were in contact with the NFL.

The organization did not mention the player by name in their statement and said they would have “no further comment at this time”.

Allegations Shared on Social Media

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who likewise did not name the athlete by name, posted a set of images on Instagram that appeared to show signs of physical abuse. She did say the individual in question was the father of her children, and reports indicate she has kids with Rice, whom the Chiefs selected in the 2023 draft.

Official Complaints Currently Unavailable

No official complaints were available in Overland Park, Kansas where the alleged abuse is said to have occurred.

Rice's Prior Legal Issues

The receiver missed the initial part of this NFL campaign following an league-mandated ban for his role in causing a crash on a Dallas highway that left multiple people injured. He was sentenced a month of incarceration and five years’ probation after entering a guilty plea to serious offenses.

Statistically, he finished the year with 53 receptions for 571 yards and five touchdowns as the Kansas City went 6-11 and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first time in a decade.
